Hey!!
I was wondering if it is possible to start a short movie in black and white, then change it midway to color, like in the wizard of oz. Any suggestions? |

I There,
Well black and white to colour, it can be done! But you will need a pot load of money and months to do it! The BBC or was it the ITV, well one of them took some old WW II film in black and white and by running the magic software which painted every frame of film with colour they turned a B&W film into a not so good colour one.
But don't give up! If the film/video you have got is in colour its dead simple to make it black&white. At the moment I am using Pinni 9, Ulead 8 and Magix Pro Plus (I'v got some older software as well) and on most of these its simple to change colour into B&W. So, just film everything in colour and change it when you edit!
Just one more idea, most video cameras today have a function to film in B&W (two of the three I have have this) so you could edit in camera by just flicking a switch.
I hope this helps.
happy filming. |

| Yeah, Video editing programs are pretty versitile. You can add any effect at any time and take away any effect at any time. you can even do a gradual change from black and white to colour seamlessly through the use of keyframes [in such programs as Sony Vegas]. |
