Alright...I have been into video editing for about a year now, but the quality of my videos are disappointing. Here is the hardware/software I use, but I am looking for updgrades, but I don't know what stuff to upgrade.
Sony Vaio RS720G
Intel P4 530 - 3.0 GHZ with HT
1 GB PC-3200 @ 400 MHZ
200 GB Hard Drive
Sony Handycam DCR-HC21 (Use fireware cable)
Ulead VideoStudio 9
Now...I am looking at
upgrading my memory to 2 GB.
getting a video card thats under $100, but good quality (any suggestions?) |

I think your system is good enough for editing, but I strongly feel, it got nothing to do with your system, my system is much lower than yours and I produce decent videos. I would recommend you to try using Adobe Premier 1.5 or Edius Pro 3, with this 2 software, your quality is very much improve as compare to simple, idiot proof editing software like Ulead and Pinnacle Studios, but good things come at a price, Premier is quite expensive and the user interface needs sometime to master, it took me roughly 3 weeks to produce some quality VCD\DVDs to view on TV using box set DVD players.
Lastly if you are doing DVDs, go for Premier Encore DVD, this one gives you very good interface.
Instead of loading your money on the software, try getting some qaulity software first.
Just my 2 cents |
