how do i get a movie, say 8 hrs to fit on a 120 min, disc. or split it up to fit on more than one disc? what type of programs do i need? i have windvd, mediaplayer, movie maker. please help

Actually...if you want 8hours I would think for a DVD you would need 3 disks.

Its a math thing Designer29...but with all joking aside.

ENCL... Are you talking DVD? If you use mpeg1 2-layer vs. PCM audion you may be able to squeeze out 55 more minutes giving you about 3 hours per disc or 180 minutes give or take. Keep in mind that this would be at a reduced quality with compression somewhere around 50% or less.

Is this a copy of a movie or your creation? If it is your creation simply treat the movie as three individual projects ending them ending each disc as time dictates. Otherwise load the entire movie into your edit software and then write down the timecode where you stop on the first disc so that you can set your start time of your second disc to start up where disc one left off and so on.

Then you can burn/create the DVD files as you normally would.
