Hi,

Can anybody recommend video editing software that actually works. I need to edit files in a variety of video formats which come with a variety of audio formats.

I have tried various trial versions and before I even edit the picture and sound in preview is breaking up, others just import the video file, but not the audio file.

I am not too concerned about recording to DVD, but would at least like to keep edited files on hard drive and be able to share edited files with others.

thanks
Frank

Hello BlankFrank. I have spent three years looking into various softwares and I have to say that I have found Premiere Elements 2 to satisfiy everything I want. It seems to accept most formats and - and this is the absolute criteria for me - it has not yet crashed on me which is more than I can say about all of the Pinnacle garbage. Even uLead - which I actually quite like - has a a tendancy to crash on capture. Regarding the trial version thing - I have to say that all trial versions I have used invariably prove to be pretty damned useless and that includes uLead but the actual software tends to be more useful. God knows why this should be but that seems to be the situation with a lot of software companies.
