I bought an iMac G-5 solely to edit and tranfer my super8 videos to DVD. I am more than disappointed to see the subsequent degradation in picture resolution after running the tapes into the hard drive with Pinnacle
DV, iMovieHD and then on to disc. I had envisioned going to the next level by getting a fancy new HD camcorder and creating some HD videos to show off on my HDTV. However, if the picture resolution is going to be sacrificed during editing - what's the point? I'm obviously new to the video editing scene, recently retired with some spare dollars and looking to do it right. In short -- Is it possible to shoot and edit HD video with whatever hardware is out there today and have the same crisp picture that HD offers? |

...Well once again I have to say that I have yet to use Apple for my video editing and once again I must defer the question to an Apple user. Though I can tell you that transfering Analog to Digital can leave you with a less than expected result. I would recommend software that offers video cleaning. As far as HD is concerned, well again I have to say that I have not used HD at all, but would love to..........Hey! Your probably wondering, This guy is no help at all....well I find that searching the web is the best answer. If there is an answer out there, you can find it on the web....

did you export from iMovie in the preset output format? as far as i recall, the presetted one definitely won't give you full resolution. But you can configure it from there |
