Howdy all, I've just got a quick question regarding the difference in performance that capture cards have to offer....
Ive got a laptop: P4 3ghz, 1 gig Ram, Radeon 9700, 100 gig HDD
I just recently installed adobe premiere, and I was going to embark on the epic journey of re-editing memento into chronological order for a bit of fun- I've loaded all the data off the DVD onto my hard drive, and started attempting to edit the 1st mpg file in premiere, and it started to run reallllly freakin slow-
will a capture card make a dramatic difference in speed when editing/skipping to different sections in high quality mpeg files within premiere, or is the main difference that capture cards make have to do with the speed at which it uploads the data from DV's.
I thought maybe there was a problem in the settings that I didn't know about too- as I'm not heaps familiar with adobe premiere.
Any help would be great, because if a capture card will make a major difference I'll run out and get one tomorrow.
