hi all
ive been editing for about a year with prem pro and i came up with a concept for family home vids
the idea is to use screen in screen to try to capture your kids and family at different stages of life. then display them similtaniously screen in screen to background music so you can see how they have grown and changed over the years.
check out my first attempt its been encoded to a wmv file which makes the quality a bit suspect but you can get the idea of the concept. the original version is dvd quality.
please feel free to comment!!
cheers Gary Young

Hi Gary, I am just starting to venture into DV editing and I have viewed your video, I like the style very much but am interested to know that when you say the original is DVD quality do you mean that although the quality looks poor when played on PC that when burned to DVD the quality is much better ? All of my attempts so far look pretty bad on the PC and am wary about paying out to purchase a AVD writer, Can you give me any advice or tips.
Thanks
Mike.

I think he means that he has had to compress the file for the internet so that it downloads faster.

A DVD quality file would be much larger than a small WMV.

As far as the quality on your computer is concerned - I would look to see how you are capturing it. Are you using USB1 or Firewire?

What resolution are you capturing it at? 720 by "something" is usally the normal quality.

Hope this helps.
