Hi Everyone,
I just purchased a new Dell Desktop computer after using a Sony Vaio laptop for years. I was under the impression that I would be able to plug my I.Link cable from my Sony DV camera into my new computer like I did with my laptop; however, there is no I.link 4 pin cable jack on my new computer.
Not being the most computer savvy, I'm not sure what to do next. The USB cable which came with the camera doesn't register at all when connected to the computer.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? I'm probably missing something obvious. I would really appreciate any help anyone could provide!
Thanks in advance! |

sony call it "ilink", but the rest of the world call it "firewire". you may want to check with dell rep/doc where firewire port is. although it's very rare that new machines do not come with firewire port, but you may want to double check if the model you bought has a firewire port in the first place.
as for connecting via USB, most likely you need to install a driver first. i would suggest you go through users guide that came with the DV camera. |
