I am in the market for setting up my computers to capture video, play back my feed from my cable line and make a few home movies from pictures; I have taken during my travels. I just don't know what to get to make all this happen on my network.

I have several computer connected to a Kvm switch, a few old reliable boxes that I use to connect to the internet, and a few new ones that I use for creating music. Now I would like to tie them together to create a few really hot video disks for my family and friends. I was wondering witch way was the least expensive and bet way to get started without getting too frustrated and wind up throwing my hard earned money out the window with the project. I also have two flat screen monitor that I would like to tie together in a dual screen configuration off of the Kvm switch, if this is possible. Can someone give my some real life suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated. I understand computers and networking, just not how to tie the video end of it together without a whole lot of trial and error.

Assistance needed.
