Sir,

I have purchased a desktop PC & interested in using the same for video editing purpose. I am biginner & My desktop PC configuration is as follows:

(1) Processor -Intel Pentium D processor 820 with EM64T (2 x 1 MB L2 Cache, 2.8 GHz, 800 MHz FSB, Dual-Core)
(2) Motherboard - ATI RC410 chipset, socket 775
(3) RAM - 512 MB512 DDR2 (533 MHz)
(4) HDD - 200 GB SATA (7200rpm)
(5) Drive - 16X DVD SuperMulti Drive with LightScribe and Double Layer (8.5 GB) support
(6) Graphics Card - Integrated ATI Radeon Xpress 200; PCI Express graphics with up to 256 MB HyperMemory technology
(7) TV Tuner - TV Tuner Card with FM Radio (PAL) built-in Hardware Encorder; MCPC Remort Control; S-Video & Composite in-ports.
(Cool OS - Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2005
(9) Firewire - IEEE 1394 & 4 USB ports
(10) Monitor - 17" LCD wide screen


Please let me know whether this configuration is suitable for video editing purpose ? If not, what additional hardware/software required ?. Is firewire port is good enough for capturing digital video from my SONY HC 90E handycam?.
