Hi all a friend of mine asked me to ,make a copy of his wedding he had on vhs tape to dvd whitch i did .i made the copy onto dvd minus disk, he came back to me and said that his dvd player did not support minus discs.
so i made a copy on a plus disc useing the minus as the master,he then came back to me saying that it was not working, the question is this, when i copeyed the minus disc to plus disc .is the disc still minus or did it write it to plus format.

The plus and minus formats are in essence the way data is handled on the disc itself. The output from either format will be uniform as long as you use the same source.

Regarding your friend being unable to play the minus disc: Minus discs are known to be more widely supported and backward compatible. Plus discs only work for more recent drives. So if he can't play the minus, don't expect to even be able to play the plus.

I guess your friend probably has a gen1 dvd player or it could be that there were errors in your dvd authoring.
